2nd Annual Sax Zim Bird Festival - February 13th thru 15th.

The 2nd Annual Sax Zim Bird Festival is the weekend of February 13th thru
15th. The unique habitat of the Sa Zim Bog in central St Louis County
attracts birders from all over North America. The Festival features lots of
field trips and keynote speeches by MN Science Teacher of the Year, Larry
Weber, of Carlton; and outdoor writer and humorist, Al Batt from Hartland,

Trout Unlimited slides of winter trout fishing in New Mexico - February 17th

If winter's got you down and you need a cure for cabin fever. How about a
road trip to fish for trout in the inspiring scenery of New Mexico's high
desert? At the February meeting of the Headwaters Chapter of Trout
Unlimited, Gary Meier from Duluth will speak and show slides of winter trout
fishing in New Mexico. The meeting is Tuesday, Feb 17th, at Cattails Bar &
Grill in Bemidji.- social hour at 5 PM, dinner at 6, folowed by Gary's

Boreal Brewers Homebrew Club Tasting - February 21st

The Boreal Brewers Homebrew Club is hosting its first-ever tasting of
home-brewed wines, meads and ciders on Saturday, February 21st, 3 o'clock,
at the Backyard Barbecue in downtown Bemidji. Brewers are invited to
contribute three bottles for the sampling. Local musicians will provide
enertainment. The event is open to the public. There will be a small cover

The Sound of String Quartet - February 7th

The Sound of String Quartet, Plus One, will perform a concert of specially
arranged sacred and classical music this Saturday, Feb 7th, 7 o'clock, on
The First Stage at the Lyric Center for the Arts in Virginia. Each member of
the quartet performs on two or more instruments including violin, viola,
